Day "1"

Is that what I think it is? A SMILE! Yes, that is right! Jeff actually smiled today! I am going to attribute that smile to the seven pounds he lost last night, and the fact that he hasn't thrown-up in 24 hours! Around Saturday, his body started absorbing fluids. He went from weighing 180 lbs on Wednesday to 205 lbs. yesterday. Dr. Tsai was very concerned and put him on lasix to draw the water out of his tissues. Joel was able to visit before he headed back down to St. George today. He said he feels like he has been kicked by a horse! Imagine that! I hope he survived the five hour drive home! Jeff agrees that today has been the best day he has had yet! Which reminds me...we have been here for a week already! Time flies when you are having fun! :)

Suffering from a little jet lag-so I thougth I would spend a minute checking out your blog. Jeff you are awesome! We pray that you will be as comfortable as possible and that your unbelievably great attitude will help you get throught this "experience" Not so sure about the whole U of U thing though :). Kathryn your strength is amazing-what a trooper! Thanks for keeping us all updated. We are really looking forward to playing with your kids this weekend. Is there anytying from St George you need? Anything I can do for you before I come up? We are willing to help how, what and when ever you need us. You are all in our prayers-we love you!

It looks like you're looking in a mirror Jeff! :) I agree with Shannon - I have faith that this will not affect your Cougar Fan status. :) I'm so glad to see a smile and that things are going well. Thanks for the updates. I LOVE to know what's going on. My family is always asking. :)

Jeff,

You are a stud! I'm so sorry for the suffering that you are going through, but I'm also very confident in your strength to survive and thrive in tough times. I reminded Tyler Roberts that you are beating him at Bball in 11 1/2 months. I look forward to seeing that.

Our whole ward is praying for you my friend.

Katherine, and Brother and Sister Andrus, I'm so grateful you are there for Jeff, he couldn't have a better support group.

Jeff you look so good. It must have been such a relief for Kathryn to see you looking so good. I know it is not easy for her to watch you go through this and only be able to encourage and support you and not take away the pain and suffering. We are glad you look better. Kaci keeps wanting to see the pictures and wants to see your shots that Kathryn showed her earlier. Unfortunately she recognized them and new what they were. All the kids are praying for you everyday. We love you lots
