Day "11"

Today was the last day Jeff received methotrexate ... an immunosuppressive chemo! Yahoo! His new bone marrow should begin to produce blood cells by next weekend! We are praying for engraftment, and we are very confident that it will work, but we are still very nervous!

Last night and today have been pretty rough for Jeff. He has had some nausea and vomiting, leg and foot aches, and quite a bit of water retention! He has slept most of the day, but is beginning to feel better this evening. I have posted a picture of his feet because they look similar to mine when I am nine months pregnant! :)

We are rooting for you! Thank you for sharing your story of courage with all of us! We know Heavenly Father is aware of you and keep you in our daily prayers. May the medication work as it should and your bones begin to produce new marrow! Nancy Schimel

Jeff and Kathryn,

I have missed my daily updates on you guys from your mom for a couple of days. I have really been thinking about you. The kids came to school and had lunch with your mom the other day. Kaitlyn enjoyed seeing Paul the Rat.
You do have a lot to be thankful for. Look at all you have gone through. It can only get better each day.
Leanne stopped by on Wednesday. I gave her the blog site. She says she will pass it on to some of the others. Hope that is okay.
Keep smiling. You two are truly amazing and an inspiration to my family.
You are in our prayers.

Jeff and Kathryn,

As Jodee mentioned, she passed along your blog site. First I just have to say how much I love you. I am amazed with your strength as I read through the postings. You two are such an example of great faith as you endure through this trial. We will keep you in our prayers and if we can ever be of any help to you- please ask.
Love, Donny and LeAnne

Jeff,

I'm sorry to say, but your feet are starting to look really similar to dad's. You have my condolences. :)

Joel

p.s. Quentin may be able to prescribe something for the toenails.

Dear Jeff and Kat,
There are not many pretty feet in the world so I guess you don't belong in that club, but you DO belong in the "nicest guy you'll ever meet" club!
Hang in there. A long time ago Laurie gave me a wall hanging that I put up close to my kitchen sink, it reads:
ONE DAY AT A TIME.
Thank you Kathryn for sharing this blog, one day at a time!
We love you both, The Winget Family :)

The good thing about all of this is that it's not permanent! I just hope you keep on feeling better every day. We love you guys! We're still keeping you in our prayers.
